Workshop on biodiversity assessment and costs of marine biodiversity monitoring programme

The workshop to exchange experience on integrated, indicator based marine biodiversity assessment schemes and tools and to examine issue on cost implications of introducing new monitoring methods for building policy compliant national monitoring programs for marine biodiversity assessment will be held in Tallinn on 7-8 May, 2014.

European Maritime Day 2013

On May 17, the Baltic Environmental Forum-Latvia organised a national conference devoted to the European Maritime Day. The conference was held in Riga, Latvia in the premises of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development. The aim of the conference was to introduce audience with the ecosystem based approach in the marine environment and ecosystem services in the sea, as well as the integration of the approach in the marine policies.
